Setting Health Boundaries During the Holidays!

self-care Nov 23, 2020

This week commences the major Holiday Season. This is a great opportunity for you to strengthen your boundary-building muscles and learn to protect your personal energy.

Personally,  as a Latina who is not only a recovering people pleaser and not living an authentic live, learning to  set boundaries within my life has been one of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn. At the same time, it’s been the driving force behind changing my life and creating happiness without all of the guilt, and believe me that’s SO liberating!

When we focus on setting healthy boundaries during the holiday season, we are giving ourselves a chance to realign with the true meaning of the season. We can focus on spending quality time – as much as you wish – with Familia and friends and remember the power of gratitude in EVERY moment!

What are healthy boundaries?

In general, healthy external boundaries are physical, emotional,...

Why Sleep? Your Adrenals Need a Break

healthy habits self-care Oct 27, 2020

I know what it feels like to be on adrenal overload to the point you end up having ongoing anxiety attacks due to the inability to sleep. Let me break what I learned about adrenals a few years back and why it's vitally important to take care of ourselves with self care so we don't get to to this point.

The “fight or flight” syndrome – you’ve heard of it, right? Accompanied with the image of the saber-toothed tiger dashing after a hunter, getting ready to attack. You often get into this situation, don’t you? In modern times, we’re not literally in that frantic position, but our bodies are often reacting as if we were fighting for our lives. Our adrenal glands, located on top of each kidney, are forced to work overtime in an effort to deal with stress from all sources:  injury, disease, work, family, finances, environment, etc.

It’s hard to imagine these small endocrine glands, essentially the size of a walnut, responsible for the...

The Undeniable Connection Between Self-Care and Success

healthy habits May 12, 2020

As entrepreneurs, our "to do" lists never shorten, and we often forget that our businesses can only run as optimally as we do!

Self-care is hardly a new concept. In fact, Ancient Greeks encouraged self-care as a way to make people more honest citizens, and more likely to care for others. Today, we know for a fact in both science and psychology that the healthier we are, the more powerfully we can show up in every area of lives.

Are the sacrifices you’re making affecting your life and your business? Not sure? Ask yourself if you have done any of the following in the past 6 months:

1It’s noon and you realize you haven’t eaten or drank a lot of fluids yet because you’ve been so focused on work.

2. 5:00 pm comes too quickly and you often have at least 3 more hours of work to complete before you can quit for the day.

3. You obsess over… well, EVERYTHING! Deadlines, to-do’s, clients, money… the list goes on and on.

Why you should start juicing now!

healthy habits Apr 29, 2020

Ok, so we are cooped up in quarantine. Many of us have gained a little chub since we entered into the home about 6 plus weeks ago. Totally understandable since there is quite a bit of stress and the tendency to want to snack.

But doing juicing is a great way to kick those sweet cravings to the curb.

Did you know that when you make juice from raw vegetables, your body absorbs the nutrients within 15 seconds?

Talk about an energy shot!

No need to buy those sugary and chemical-ish concoctions from your local drug-store or mini mart. Juicing is an all-natural way to boost your energy and feel amazing.

When you juice your fruits and veggies, you end up extracting all the water and nutrients from them and leave behind only the plant fibers. By separating the fruit or vegetable from its fiber, we gain access to all of the amazing vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytonutrients which are much more easily assimilated by our body than if we were to eat them. This...

Tips For Stress Reduction During Covid19 - Wellness Wednesday!

self-care Apr 22, 2020

I am one of those people who wasn't too phased out when the announcement of covid hit the states. Even going into quarantine I was doing  fine and kept a positive outlook. With the ever changing climate outside it was pretty inevitable it would take a tole on all of us.

There are people that are thriving in quarantine, being able to relax and take time to recoup. And there are those of us that need a little extra boost of help when it comes to self care and stress reduction.

I took a little time to create this recourse for you that has helped me in the past during chaos times and hopefully will help you now as you continue life cooped up.

Tip To Help With Stress Reduction

Meditation: This can help create a healthy immune response and reduce anxiety. I start my morning out with 10 minutes of quite meditation.

Yoga: Mindful movement that connects to your breath can help you feel centered. There are a ton of resources of YouTube right now, or even...

Getting It Done: 3 Tips To Use Time Effectivly

healthy habits mindset Apr 20, 2020

I woke up this morning feeling totally rested. But part of me just wanted to stay in bed. After all, it was only 6am.

So I closed my eyes for a few minutes but then they popped open again.

What did I have on my plate today?

I did a quick review of my calendar and noted nothing until 10am, great I had a few hours to take it easy!

So I had a choice to make, I could either get up and get my morning routine started or stay in bed for a an hour more.

So if I started procrastinating, my day would fall apart.

To be honest, if I decided to label myself as a procrastinator, I simply would not have the lifestyle that I have.

I know from personal experience that putting things off and waiting until the last minute doesn’t serve you.

How do I know? I just do. Procrastinating helps no one. In fact, it will only hold you back and distance you from your dreams.

I have a few ideas that will help you stay on track. Mind if I share them?

First, can I ask you a...

Create your healthy habits now!

healthy habits Jan 25, 2020

Its a new year and people around the globe are throwing away old habits and starting new ones. The gyms are packed as people try to loose weight and try to stay committed to their new lives. I personally feel it hard to commence new habits but with a little help from these tips below you can more easily work them into your schedule . What are you new years plans?!

CREATE A ROUTINE

The point of forming a new habit is to make yourself more productive and efficient, not chain yourself to a sheet of paper.

Make sure your routines and checklists are not time-crunched so that you have time left to socialize or relax. You don’t want to restrict your life so be conscious of each area and find a balance.

GET ORGANIZED

When you are trying to create a new habit, you want things to be as simple as possible and clear. The only way to do that is to become organized.

Create folders for each day of the week that you can refer to or keep your checklists in a neat pile...

The end of a decade..

mindset Dec 27, 2019

Can you believe that the end of the year is coming up in 4 days?!

I sure can't.

And it's not just the end of the year, it's an end of a decade!

I went to a entrepreneurial event a few weeks ago Friday land was asked the question. Where were you 20 years ago? I urge you to think about that for a minute. How about 10 years ago?

For me. I was in my 2nd year in college with big aspiration of changing the world about 20 years ago and 10 years ago I was about 1/2 way through my Masters degree at San Diego State. Although the same Sarita is still in there desiring to change the world and make a difference, I am a new person than I was then.

I encourage you to do an exercise. As we come up to the end of the year I want you to write down all the items you have accomplished in the last 10 years, ok? List them down! Thats everything, not just big events like weddings or having a baby. I want you to write down the events like, paying off a credit card, or meeting a new friend that's...

Self-Care is having a voice

self-care Oct 16, 2019

Self- care is having a voice

Let me explain

Self-care is more than just pedicures and massages. It is giving your self the space for emotional, physical and spiritual growth

Your voice, my voice, our voice is the most powerful tool we have as women

By having a voice we are able to set boundaries, be able to say no when we need to, have better relationships, have better businesses and better community members.

When we don't have a voice we are deleted and unworn, tired and allowing people to walk all over us. We people please and don't permit ourselves to invest in our own personal self development

When we ignite our voices through the power of self-care we can consciously create the lifestyle of our dreams.
